Cold Crops: Cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli, lettuce, and spinach
Don't forget onion sets and seed potatoes
-
Make a plan for what you want to plant and where
-
Flower beds should be left alone to protect younger sprouts trying to come up
-
Leaves and mulch will protect from a late freeze
-
When tilling your vegetable garden, you can add lime to sweeten the soil where tomatoes were planted
-
One pound of lime covers over 100 square feet
-
Find a place to keep grass clippings, they are a great way to keep weeds down and add nitrogen back into the soil
